"Jazz
guitarists are a pernickety breed regarding amplifier choice. After all,
the amplifier/loudspeaker is virtually half the instrument and the best
guitar in the world will not sound great with inferior equipment. I think
I am right in saying that most jazz players require these qualities from
an amp:-
Warm,
clean sound.
Sweet sounding throughout the range,especially the treble.
Clean chord sound with good definition.
Crisp, warm bass register.
Lightweight.
Michael
has now come up with the ideal individually made amp head. I chose an
arrangement of a great standard, "Someone to watch over me",
to demonstrate how beautifully this amp delivers the above qualities -
and his new Electro-voice DVX loaded cabinets are simply amazing.."
