!END of PRODUCTION - Retirement!

Apart from the few items I have in stock, no more mainstream Ameson cabinets will be produced from 1st February 2015. Note I still have the equipment, parts, and ability to make odd bespoke cabinets but the price may be prohibitive...

I would recommend the Laney Lionheart cabinets as an excellent alternative. They are well made, competively priced, and available from us. (COLLECTION only). Speaker upgrades possible to customer order.

Remaining Ameson cabinet stock as at 01/02/2015 is:

  1 x 412AX cabinet - RED
  1 x 412AX cabinet - WHITE
  1 x 412AX cabinet - Choice of covering
  1 x DVM 112 cabinet - Choice of covering
1 x 215H BASS Cabinet - Eminence 250W Neo speakers + original Motorola HF unit
  1 x 215H BASS Cabinet
The above cabinets are EMPTY unless stated and can be loaded with speakers of your choice.

PREVIOUS NOTES

These are generally made from 12mm, 15mm, or 18mm Birch plywood, with MDF or Birch plywood baffles. Usual choice of coverings, styles and pipings. Again, hand cut, assembled and wired. Drive units used are Celestion Century, Century Vintage, Blue, Vintage 30, 70/80, G12H, Classic Lead 80, Rocket 50. We aso use Eminence Loudspeakers who now offer a huge range of (very good) dedicated guitar speakers for particular rock applications if you can actually work out exactly which model is right for you (Red Fang, Screamin' Eagle, Private Jack, Swamp Thang, etc. etc... the mind boggles). FANE International now also offer some very good units. After exhaustive tests we have adopted the NEO magnet Celestion Century as our standard loudspeaker. Not the cheapest but fabulous sound, great efficiency, and light weight. (NB. The Celestion "Alnico Blue" speaker is also excellent but with only 15 Watts honest handling power it is is only suitable in multiples of four with our 50 watt unit - then consider the price - but what a sound...) Other popular cabs include:

Ameson 112X

A traditional open back 1 x 12" cabinet. With Celestion Classic Lead 80 for example it has a punchy open sound, and is suitable for recording or small gigs. Power handling 80 Watts rms.

Dimensions:

22.75"(W) x 17"(H) x 9"(D). Weight with Celestion Classic Lead 80 - 12Kg.

Ameson 210X

A traditional open back 2 x 10" cabinet. With Eminence Legend 102s for example it has a nice compressed bluesy sound, and is great for recording or small gigs. Power handling 40 Watts rms.

Dimensions:

22.75"(W) x 17"(H) x 9"(D). Weight with 2 x Legend 102's - 11Kg.

Ameson 212X

A traditional open back 2 x 12" cabinet. With Celestion Century speakers it has a really pure hot guitar tone, and the sheer volume - even driven with our 50 watt amplifier- is astounding. Power handling 140 Watts rms. Same size and proportions as AC30.

Dimensions:

27"(W) x 20"(H) x 10"(D). Weight with 2 x Celestion Century's - 17 Kg.

Ameson 412AX

A traditional angled closed back 4 x 12" cabinet. Minimal 412 dimensions for ease of handling and tight bottom end response. Even with basic Celestion 70/80 speakers it has a really convincing clear and efficient (i.e. LOUD) SPL output, and is perfect for larger gigs. Power handling 250 Watts rms. Comes with castors... The 412BX is the straight version.

Dimensions:

28"(W) x 28"(H) x 14"(D). Weight with Celestion 70/80- 42Kg.
